Welcome to Monmore RGT based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. As one of the seventy branches of the Retired Greyhound Trust, Monmore RGT was established in April 2004 with the aim of finding good homes for dogs when they come to the end of their racing careers at Monmore Green Greyhound Stadium. With the assistance of Ladbrokes Ltd, volunteers’ work to raise awareness about what wonderful pets greyhounds can make. Many of the volunteers have been working actively in the greyhound industry or greyhound rescue for a number of years or with other organisations such as RSPCA and Birmingham Dogs Home to name but a few. In addition we endeavour to assist local and national rescue organisations to home pet greyhounds and we have been successful in finding homes for greyhounds throughout the Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire and indeed further afield. The Retired Greyhound Trust name suggest that the dogs we are trying to re-home are old, but nothing could be further from the truth. Retired greyhounds can be anything between 18 months and 5 years old, not particularly old by any stretch of the imagination.
